Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about vehicle configuration, accessories, construction, ordering, and ownership.

Configuration and Accessories

Choose the truck first. Every specification and installation decision follows from the supported OEM-CAD configuration.

Is Silver Bullet waterproof?

No. The drawer is gasket sealed, weather resistant, and dust resistant for normal truck use. It is not waterproof, submersible, pressure-washer proof, or IP rated.

Is the drawer secure and lockable?

Yes. Every launch system uses a locking compression latch that helps secure stored gear while pulling the drawer face firmly against its gasket. Like any vehicle storage, it should not be represented as theft-proof.

How is my truck configuration confirmed?

Listed configurations are engineered from factory OEM vehicle CAD. After purchase, Silver Bullet confirms the selected year, truck family, bed length, and disclosed bed accessories before releasing the system to fabrication.

What if my truck is not supported yet?

Submit the model-request form with your truck details. Requests are used to prioritize the next fitments, and we will contact you as development advances.

Does installation require drilling?

Most launch-supported trucks use a no-drill installation. The short-bed Toyota Tacoma is the known exception and requires model-specific installation steps.

Are wing plates included?

Yes. Every Silver Bullet drawer system includes model-specific wing plates as standard equipment, and the displayed product price includes them.

Engineering and Construction

Product claims are written to match the actual materials, ratings, and limits of the system.

What do the load ratings mean?

The platform deck is rated to 2,000 lb and the drawer to 400 lb. Both ratings are based on distributed loading. Point loads, installation quality, tie-down technique, and driving conditions matter.

What is the system made from?

The primary construction is 6063-T6 aluminum with a black finish, a gasket-sealed drawer enclosure, and a locking compression latch.

Where is Silver Bullet built?

Built in Palmer Lake, Colorado. Design, engineering, testing, manufacturing, factory installation, and support all happen here at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, using U.S.-sourced aluminum and rubber.

What does patent pending mean for Silver Bullet?

A provisional patent application has been filed covering key gasket, extrusion, rolling-mechanism, and system-architecture innovations. Silver Bullet is patent pending, and a broader portfolio of related applications is in development.

How are drawer-volume comparisons calculated?

Vehicle-specific comparisons use equivalent bed-length classes and usable in-drawer volume. When complete comparable dimensions are used, both systems are calculated with length x width x height and the full drawer count. The 108% 8-foot result compares Silver Bullet's 91.3669 x 46.625 x 10.125 in drawer with two 72 x 18 x 8 in drawers in the leading system, equal to 186.7 versus 89.8 gallons. Other rows use the source and method disclosed in the applicable product table. Customer-facing volumes are U.S. gallons rounded to one decimal place. Review the complete methodology and source record.

Are systems kept in stock?

No. Launch systems are built to order after the selected truck configuration and disclosed bed accessories are confirmed.

How long will my system take?

Current production timing is estimated at 4-6 weeks. Build timing is an estimate, not a guaranteed completion date, and final timing is confirmed as the order moves into production.

How does factory installation work?

Every Silver Bullet drawer system ordered through this website is installed by Silver Bullet at 650 County Line Rd, Unit A, Palmer Lake, Colorado. As the drawer system nears completion, we contact you to schedule a dedicated appointment. A standard installation typically takes about one hour, followed by a brief owner walkthrough. Nonstandard vehicle or accessory work may take longer and is discussed in advance. See the complete process.

Can my drawer system be shipped instead of factory installed?

Not at launch. Silver Bullet drawer systems are currently factory installed in Palmer Lake, Colorado, rather than shipped to customers. Shipping is planned for a later phase. Join the dedicated shipping-availability email list to hear when that changes.

Do you sell to dealers?

Yes, through an approved dealer program. Dealer pricing, pickup, commercial freight, and installation responsibilities are handled through a separate quote and written agreement rather than checkout through this website. Apply for the dealer program.

How does payment work?

Standard checkout collects the full selected price, including standard factory installation. Eligible customers may see Shop Pay Installments as a payment choice during checkout. Review the complete order terms.

Will Shop Pay or installments be available?

Shopify checkout supports Shop Pay and, for eligible customers and orders, Shop Pay Installments when Shopify Payments and Shop Pay are activated. Availability is determined during checkout.

What are the warranty and cancellation terms?

Silver Bullet includes a three-year limited structural warranty and a one-year limited warranty on covered nonstructural components. Built-to-order systems become final sale once production begins. Review the complete payment, cancellation, installation, return, and warranty terms.

Can a completed drawer system be returned?

Vehicle-specific, built-to-order, and installed systems are generally not returnable. A remedy may be authorized when Silver Bullet supplied the wrong product, the product has a covered defect, or Silver Bullet approves an exception in writing. Contact Silver Bullet before removing, modifying, or transporting the system.
